Below are the various types of windows and descriptions that will help you understand the many options you have in window and door selection. We have solutions that can dramatically change the look of your home AND save you money on your monthly energy bills. Double Hung
  • Operating unit with both sash moving up and down.
  • Closed-cell foam sill bulb protects against air and water infiltration at the sill.
  • Interlocking design of the meeting rail secures sash tightly together around weatherstripping to help prevent drafts.
  • Easy-to-move sash remain in any open position because because of a durable, constant force coil spring balance system.
  • Both top and bottom sash tilt in for easy cleaning from inside the home.
  • A pop-out vent latch allows the sash to partially open for ventilation.
Basement
  • Single lite unit where the sash opens inward from the top.
  • For units 24″ or less in width, one handle unlocks, opens, closes and locks the sash.
  • Units greater than 24″ in width feature two handles.
  • The ventilated sash opens from 15 to 30 degrees.
  • Easily detachable egress hinges allow the window toopen greater than 90 degres.
Picture
  • Non-operating window.
  • Used alone or as part of a larger window grouping or configuration.
Awning
  • Single lite unit where the sash opens outward from the bottom.
  • Sash crank out with a single, easy-to-use handle to 90- degrees for full ventilation.
  • Heavy-duty sash hinge support.
Bow
  • Series of windows mulled at 10-degree angles.
  • Available in 3-, 4- or 5-lite designs.
  • Unique, 1-1/4″ offset seatboard design.
  • Insulated seatboard provides high R-values.
  • TimberStand®* wood mullions are 25% stronger than traditional wood mullions.
  • Patented** window support system uses a combination of threaded steel rods and cables to ensure the unit remains securely in place.
  • Red Oak or White Birch interior trim as well as headboard and seatboard veneers.
Patio Door
  • Sliding door with a single panel that glides from side to side.
  • Available with either a left or right sliding panel.
  • Corrosion-resistant brass panel rollers.
  • Sloped threshold helps prevent dirt build-up in the sill track.

  • Optional brass handle.
Sidelite
  • Fixed unit window placed on the side of a patio door.
  • Provides more glass surface area to patio door.
  • Can be mulled to the patio door unit.
  • Can be used on one or both sides of the patio door.
Double Slider
  • Operating unit with both sash moving up and down.

  • Side units operate from side to side, while the center unit remains stationary.

  • Both meeting stiles feature an interlocking design to secure sash tightly together.
  • Side units lift out to allow for exterior glass surface cleaning.
Casement
  • Single lite unit where the sash opens outward from the side.
  • Choose from either a right-hinged or left-hinged style.
  • Sash crank out with a single, easy-to-use handle to 90- degrees for fu l ventilation.
  • Heavy-duty sash hinge support.
  • Also available as a fixed (non-operating) unit.
Garden
  • Unique, angled box-shaped window with operational side units.
  • Ideal place to showcase plants or collectibles.

Bay
  • Three-lite unit available in 30- or 45-degrees.
  • Choose either 2 or 3 operating units in either a Double Hung or Picture Window or Casement and Picture Window combinations.

Transom
  • Fixed unit window placed above a sliding patio door.
  • Provides more glass surface area to patio door.
  • Can be mulled to the patio door unit.
